Cap d'Agde markets

Cap d'Agde markets

Marina, Richelieu beach, Aqualand, trendy clubs, International Golf Course... Cap d'Agde has a wide variety of tourist attractions. This small seaside resort in the Occitanie region is particularly famous for its many summer markets.

Small kingdoms of land-sea products

In summer, the markets in Cap d'Agde are busier than ever, with the arrival of tourists who come to take advantage of the fine weather in the Hérault department. There's something for everyone at the local markets, where you'll find a little bit of everything.

Naturally, seafood is a must in this seaside resort. Fish, shellfish and other seafood decorate the stands. You'll also be able to fill your baskets with sun-drenched, colourful fruit and vegetables that are as fresh as they come.

Wine lovers? You'll find Muscat de Frontignan and red wines from Domaine de Gauby at the town's markets. Fresh cheeses, charcuterie, jewellery, clothes and souvenirs are just some of the products and items that will win you over.

The not-to-be-missed markets of Cap d'Agde

Depending on your shopping list, you can choose from various markets in Cap d'Agde.

The traditional Agde market

Agde's traditional market is held every Thursday from 6.30am to 1pm on the Promenade, around the covered market and the Place du Jeu de Ballon. Around 170 stands sell food, natural flowers and clothing every week. During the high season, i.e. from April to September, the stallholders remain in the same place every Sunday from 7am to 1pm, much to the delight of holidaymakers near Marseillan.

The food market

The Cap d'Agde food market is held every Tuesday from mid-June to the end of September on the Quai de l'Estacade near the historic centre, from 7am to 1pm. You'll find the freshest fish here, as traders display fish caught that very morning on their stalls. The earlier you get to the market, the better your chances of finding a nice piece of fish.

The Vias-Plage farmers' market

The Vias-Plage farmers' market is held on the Cap d'Agde seafront. From mid-June to mid-September, around twenty stallholders set up their stalls daily in the Farinette car park, from 8am to 1pm. In August, the market is held every Monday from 8.30am to 12.30pm. The friendly producers will be delighted to give you recipes for using their local produce.

The Grau d'Agde night market

The Grau d'Agde market is mainly made up of craftspeople and is held every Monday evening from 6pm to midnight during the summer. It's a great opportunity to discover the beauty of the Agatha sunset on the seafront at Grau d'Agde. The night market features a wide range of decorative items, jewellery and accessories. In short, everything you need to find a little holiday souvenir to take home with you!

The Tamarissière market

La Tamarissière lies 6 km west of Cap d'Agde, on the right bank of the Hérault. There are 2 markets every Wednesday from early July to late August in the Place du Commandant Maletv. The traditional market is held in the morning, from 6.30am to 1pm; and if you want to make the most of the cool summer evenings, head to the night market, from 6pm to midnight, to meet local producers and craftspeople.

Tous ces marchés se trouvent à quelques minutes du camping La Créole, en face de la plage de Marseillan.
